Vacancy: Marketing Officer

Reporting to: Marketing & Business Development Manager

Finnlemm SACCO is seeking to recruit a Marketing Officer to join the Marketing Department, reporting to the Marketing & Business Development Manager.

Job Purpose

Responsible for all customer experience activities. This includes delivering excellent service, boosting member retention and satisfaction, maintaining a positive public and brand image, and promoting the Sacco’s products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Work closely with the sales team to enter new markets and recruit members.
  2. Coordinate member recruitment activities.
  3. Proactively market products and services to current and potential members.
  4. Attend sales meetings, activations, training sessions and symposiums.
  5. Maintain accurate records and documentation for reporting.
  6. Gather and analyse member complaints and recommend service improvements.
  7. Identify opportunities to enhance member experience.
  8. Work across teams to remove unnecessary processes and improve efficiency.
  9. Organise customer service strategies with the Marketing & Business Development Manager.
  10. Develop and implement digital marketing strategies with the Marketing & Business Development Manager and ICT Manager.
  11. Manage promotions and advertisements.
  12. Update social media platforms and the website.
  13. Prepare reports on social media marketing.
  14. Ensure excellent customer service organisation-wide.
  15. Participate in annual member appreciation events.
  16. Conduct customer satisfaction surveys.
  17. Coordinate educational programs on products and services.
  18. Assist in developing business development strategies.
  19. Perform any other duties assigned by the Marketing & Business Development Manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Academic & Professional Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Marketing, Business Administration or related field, OR Degree plus Diploma in Marketing or Customer Service.
  2. Digital marketing qualifications and experience.
  3. Proficiency in computer applications.
  4. Membership in a professional marketing body (e.g. CIM or MSK).
  5. At least five (5) years’ experience in a marketing role.

Technical & Interpersonal Skills

  1. Knowledge of Sacco products, services, policies and systems.
  2. Ability to use marketing tools to increase visibility and reputation.
  3. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  4. Sales and marketing skills.
  5. Strong interpersonal and networking skills.

  7. Brand champion mindset.
  8. Creativity, collaboration and problem solving.
  9. Strong organisational and planning skills.
  10. Professional expertise in relevant work area.
